Sharon Sauer

Sharon Sauer, LMT, CMTPT

Founder & Clinic Director

Sharon is a highly respected myofascial trigger point therapist, instructor and author based in Chicago, IL.

She has practiced since 1984, and was mentored by the co-authors of the Trigger Point Manual: Dr. David Simons and Dr. Janet Travell (who was also President Kennedy’s personal physician).

Sauer’s career has focused on both direct patient care—helping thousands overcome chronic and acute soft-tissue pain—and on education, developing training programs for healthcare providers and self-care resources for the public.

Sharon is recognized for bringing myofascial trigger point therapy to Chicago in the 1980s, and has trained over 1,000 practitioners through her MYO Seminar Series, which teaches protocols for treating myofascial pain and dysfunction throughout the body.

She co-authored Trigger Point Therapy for Low Back Pain with Mary Biancalana, aiming to shift the paradigm of pain treatment toward self-reliance and empowerment.

Her work is widely recognized in the field, and she continues to influence both patients and practitioners through her teaching and clinical practice.

Alex Lindo, LMT, CMTPT

Alex Lindo has over a decade of experience in bodywork. His philosophy as a bodyworker stems from profound experiences in his own life of the body’s innate intelligence and the capacity of conscious touch as a catalyst for transformation. He has witnessed bodywork achieve remarkable outcomes, resolving injuries deemed permanent, and succeeding where surgeries have failed — helping release trauma carried for a lifetime.

“I love working with clients to create lasting change, building plans for long-term treatment goals while remaining open to the potential for remarkable changes that can sometimes occur in an instant.”

Alex is a graduate of the National Holistic Institute in San Francisco, where he completed the 900-hour program in Massage Therapy and Health Education. While in the Bay Area, he participated in years of advanced Biodynamic Craniosacral Training under Giorgia Milne and studied Zero Balancing at Esalen with Dr. Fritz Smith, while working both at premiere massage establishments and with private clients.

He now practices in Chicago, where he apprenticed with myofascial trigger point therapist Sharon Sauer, one of the foremost experts in the field.

Jason Stein, LMT, CMTPT

Jason is a licensed and board certified clinical massage therapist with an office in Roscoe Village in Chicago IL. He trained at the Soma Institute for Clinical Massage Therapy, graduating valedictorian, and apprenticed under leading myofascial trigger point therapist Sharon Sauer.

Jason specializes in identifying and eliminating myofascial trigger points. He treats these knots and tightened muscles using manual techniques, offering a therapy that can significantly reduce, and eventually eliminate muscular pain. Jason trains patients to treat their own trigger points using stretches and self massage techniques, with special attention given to the perpetuating factors that initially caused or contributed to the injury. Inspired to help patients find relief from pain, he helps patients pursue a path of healing and well-being.

Jason is acutely aware of how debilitating and helpless it can feel to experience chronic pain. So often, these injuries can seem inexplicable, with no clear solution in sight. After experiencing a debilitating injury 15 years ago, Jason was exposed to trigger point therapy for the first time. With the help of Nancy Shaw, a renowned trigger point therapist, he learned techniques to heal his own injury. Inspired by the efficacy and efficiency of the treatment, he decided to become a licensed clinical massage therapist and myofascial trigger point therapist.
